About The Church
Our church was established in June 2012 under the direction of Father Morcos Habib of St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church, East Brunswick.
We were officially blessed with a wonderful liturgy with H.G. Bishop David on Saturday, September 15, 2012. We all decided then that the church be by the name of Saint Mary & Saint Stephen Coptic Orthodox Church.
We used to pray in the First Reformed Church of South River on 40 Thomas St. South River, NJ 08882. Then, we moved to Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church on 76 Whitehead Ave. South River, NJ 08882, where we prayed liturgies every Saturday under the direction of Father Mina William, who began to serve our church on July 13, 2013 and Father Stefanos Habib, who came from Egypt to serve our church on August 10, 2013.
When 2014 came by, we prayed the Nativity and Theophany feasts at the original church: the First Reformed Church of South River (40 Thomas St. South River, NJ 08882).
We are now hosted graciously by the Conklin Union Methodist Church on 82 Main St. South River, NJ 08882. We pray a weekly liturgical service there every Saturday and Sunday. There is a weekly Bible Study on Wednesdays from 7-9pm, with an Alhan class that goes on from 7-8pm. On Saturday after the Liturgy, we eat an Agphapy meal together as one church and there is Sunday School for the children. On Saturday evenings, we pray Vespers and Midnight Praises from 6-9pm
